We are devoted to helping you rest, regenerate and rediscover yourself amongst our wild hills and woodland.
Transformed for 2021, Pant Y Castell is a small working farm set in 15 secluded acres just to the West of the Brecon Beacons, in the South of Wales, UK. Our purpose is to help you create the perfect conditions to rest and build your energy for the road ahead. By staying with us, you help us to preserve, regenerate and nurture this small corner of Wales for generations to come.

"Wow! This cottage is a delight. Secluded and quiet, the cottage's garden is the home of lots of friendly sheep- perfect for little ones who love animals (Lois even came over to let Seb feed them). The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing /romantic break; the outdoor fire pit and the indoor log burner made the stay even more cosy. We had a perfect few days away as a family. Definitely will return."

You can Simply Stay as a guest and enjoy an independent and uninterrupted time at your own pace. You can also choose to work with one of our experienced guides who will tailor a package to help you Pause, Discover, Incubate or Commune.

Choose Simply Stay if you are in need of a rest, a break and need to take time for self-care and to rebuild your wellbeing and you want to do this in your own way.
As an independent guest you can sit in front of log-burning stoves, lose hours gazing at grazing sheep, wander through the country park on our border, explore the mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park, gain inspiration from window shelves crammed with books, sleep, eat at some fantastic local spots, and spend time alone or with the people you love.

The Hayloft
The Hayloft has some serious local history. It was built in the 1800's and, aside from storing hay, was used for clandestine meetings of Welsh farmers and workers rebelling against harsh and unjust taxation imposed by the English and poor economic conditions. Farmers and tradesman from surrounding came to Pant Y Castell at night to plot their resistance as part of the Rebecca Riots between 1839 and 1843. You may just find yourself connecting with your rebellious side if you stay in the Hayloft - maybe perfect for one of our incubator retreats
The Hayloft has been fully renovated for 2021 and features a fully equipped kitchen, a very spacious lounge and dining area, a disabled shower and toilet, a large patio area with a fire pit, along with two cozy bedrooms. Many of the original features have been retained and it has a cozy and distinctive atmosphere. It is is the perfect space for a couple to spend time together or, for a family of 3-4.
The Dairy
The Cow Shed was originally built and used as a milking parlour for cows on the land. You can still see the openings where the animals would have wandered in and out every morning and evening in the stonework in the courtyard.
There are no beds of hay here now though, the Cow Shed has been fully renovated for 2021 and features a fully equipped kitchen, a very spacious lounge and dining area, a disabled shower and toilet, a large patio area with a fire pit, along with two cozy bedrooms.
Many of the original features have been retained and it has a cozy and distinctive atmosphere. With one large double bedroom and a very spacious lounge, the Cowshed is the perfect space for a couple to spend time together or to get time alone.

What our accommodation offers every guest
Fully equipped kitchen
We have tried to think of everything you might need in the kitchen from fan ovens, microwaves, hobs and fridges, plus all manner of pots and pans so that you can cook, bake or just heat up, to your heart's desire.
Free Wifi. No TV
We are rural and WiFi speeds vary a bit according to weather and usage, but you can stay connected when you need to, although we advise not getting the passcode and just switching off. We do not provide televisions. We do provide a haven of peace.
Private Patio Space
Both the Hayloft and the Cow Shed are complete with their own private patio spaces that you can use to relax, barbecue and enjoy the view over Pant Y Castell's fields.
High Quality Linen

Log Fires
Each barn comes with a log burner and a supply of sustainably sourced wood from our land. We have planted over 500 fast-growing willow trees that we harvest from. You may also be able to book to use our wood-fired pizza oven to create your own stone-baked pizza's.
Food Hampers
We know some great food places who will put together and deliver a menu of locally-sourced high quality ready made meals you can heat up yourself, along with natural, organic wine from Wright's down in the valley. You need to let us know at the time of your booking and we can add this in.
